2023: Disney Trip – Title Page
You may have noticed that I’ve been quiet here for the past couple of weeks—and for good reason. I’ve been deep into working on a Disney album from a short but memorable trip we took in November 2023. It was a quick getaway, with one full day at EPCOT, and a second day spent exploring Disney Springs, dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and capping it all off with Cirque du Soleil in the evening.
As I began working through the photos and layouts, I realized this album needed to evolve—just like life does sometimes. I made the personal decision to remove someone from several photos. It’s never an easy choice, but scrapbooking is about curating the memories that continue to bring us joy. You’ll see some of the techniques I used throughout the pages I’ll be sharing in the coming weeks. My hope is that this inspires you to shape your own albums in a way that feels authentic to your story.
Today, I’m kicking things off by sharing the title page of the album. I always save the title page for last, after the rest of the layouts are complete. That way, I can tie it all together with a clear theme and coordinate the colors with the album cover. In this case, I used a red-toned Disney album, which set the tone for the title spread’s color palette.
The Spaceship Earth graphic—the iconic geosphere at EPCOT’s entrance—was designed and cut using Cricut Design Space and my Cricut machine. The “Walt Disney World” title is actually a sticker we received in our welcome packet (probably meant for a laptop!), and I knew I had to include it somewhere in the album. The Mickey Mouse accent, border strip, and background cardstock all come from a vintage Disney scrapbooking pack—probably from the 90s—and I love the nostalgic touch they bring.
I’m really looking forward to sharing more of this album with you over the next few weeks. Whether you’re working on your own Disney memories or a completely different kind of trip, I hope this series reminds you that your scrapbook is your story—told the way that feels right to you.
