Arguments to Support my Scrapbooking Hobby to my Spouse

Many of the scrapbooking community have spouses or significant others that are supportive of our hobby, but some have partners that don’t understand the passion. So, here are some arguments you could use to defend your scrapbooking hobby with your spouse or significant other:

  1. Stress relief: Scrapbooking can be a great way to unwind and de-stress after a long day. It’s a creative outlet that can help you relax and take your mind off of other things.
  2. Preservation of memories: Scrapbooking is a way to preserve your memories and create a visual record of your life experiences. It’s a great way to document important events and milestones in your life.
  3. Personalization: Scrapbooking allows you to personalize your memories and make them unique. You can use different materials, colors, and layouts to create a one-of-a-kind scrapbook that reflects your individual style.
  4. Family bonding: Scrapbooking can be a fun activity to do with your family. You can involve your children in the process and create a keepsake that you can all cherish for years to come.
  5. Cost-effective: Scrapbooking can be a cost-effective hobby, especially if you use materials you already have at home. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to create beautiful scrapbook pages. (This one might be a lie!)
  6. Improved creativity: Scrapbooking can help improve your creativity and develop your artistic skills. You can experiment with different layouts, colors, and designs to create beautiful and unique pages.
  7. Social benefits: Scrapbooking can also provide social benefits by connecting you with others who share the same interest. You can join scrapbooking groups or attend workshops to learn new techniques and connect with other scrapbookers.
  8. Gift-giving: Scrapbooks can also make great gifts for family and friends. You can create personalized scrapbooks for birthdays, holidays, or other special occasions, which can be a thoughtful and meaningful gift.
  9. Productivity: Scrapbooking can provide a sense of accomplishment as you complete pages and albums. It can be a productive use of your time, and it can be very rewarding to see your finished projects.

Remember to be open and communicate with your spouse about why you enjoy scrapbooking and how it benefits you. By sharing your passion and your reasons for why you enjoy scrapbooking, you may be able to help them understand and appreciate your hobby.
