2022: Friend's Wedding - 1

During the summer of 2022 I went to the wedding of a good friend in Tulsa, Oklahoma and this is the resulting scrapbook spread. I usually plan ahead on these kinds of events, so I had saved the Save-the-Date card and picture and made sure that I picked up some left-over programs after the wedding was over.

The left-hand page is the Save-the-Date photo that came with the Save-the-Date invitation that you can see to the right. I matted this photograph using one of the wedding programs (look carefully and you can see the leaves), and then created a second mat in a subtle green/blue to help pull out the colors from the dress, and to brighten the greens on the page. The background papers for this spread came from a textured paper pack set.

The right-hand page showcases the Save-the-Date invitation as well as the wedding program, and if you look carefully, you will see that this page is split down the middle. This is because I am using a swinging shutter plastic page protector on this side so that you can open it and see this:

This allows you to see the backside of the Save-the-Date invitation and the wedding program, as well as pictures that I took at the wedding. I only had one copy of the Save-the-Date invitation (As I only got invited once) so I used my Cricut Machine to cut out an opening in the cardstock that was slightly smaller than the invitation. I then used a pencil to trace the cutout shape on the back on the reverse cardstock and used a paper cutter and a pair of sharp scissors to mirror the cut. I then carefully taped the invitation to the cardstock so that you could read both sides of it. I was able to retrieve several wedding programs after the ceremony, and so I used two of those to give the illusion that you were looking at both sides of one.

The middle of this spread contains three pictures from the wedding that I bordered with the same blue/green cardstock from the left-hand page and then embellished with some ivy stickers.
