2023: Memorial to Spike – New House and New Puppy
This is the second spread in Spike’s Memorial Album, and contains our first pictures of him at our new home in Indiana in 2008.
The pictures on this page are sized 4×5.25 – which is not the size that I normally use (4×6) – I am not sure if it was due to the camera that I was using at the time (pre phone cameras), or if it was just the size that I selected. Remember that I had been printing and storing these pictures since 2008 for this album when the time came, and so I didn’t really have any choice but to use them in the size that they were printed.
I selected background paper that came from a “dog paper pack” and purposefully chose the grass and the gravel to help accentuate the outdoors nature of the pictures on the page. I create the title block using Cricut Design Space and then drew and cut it out using my Cricut Maker.
I used the same color matting for the title block on the photos to help tie the two pages together into one spread. I then used some premade stickers to embellish the right-hand page. The bottom of the left-hand page contains a large button brad that says “playtime” and one of Spike’s vaccination tags that I attached to the page using a small black brad.
