2021: North Carolina Road Trip – Big Cypress Lodge – Memphis, TN – 1

Our last night on our road trip we stayed at the Big Cypress Lodge in the Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid in Memphis, TN. This is the first of three spreads I made of our adventures that evening and night. This page really serves as the opening title page for this three-spread collection. I used a green and brown color theme for this spread to play on the colors from nature and from the location itself.
The right-hand side includes a coaster from the hotel room with the Big Cypress Lodge logo on it, which I mimicked in the Cricut cutout tree in the middle of the page. I also used my Cricut machine to cutout the brown circle behind the tree, and used the leftover cutout has part of the background paper on the left-hand side. The “Park Permit” journalling block came out of an outdoor scrapbook pack, and my mother later wrote some notes about the trip on it.
The left-hand side has a picture of the Big Cypress Lodge logo embedded into the floor of the Lodge lobby and a graphic from the outdoor scrapbook pack. Next to these is the Welcome Folder that we received when we checked in to the Lodge. I added all of our ephemera to it and attached it directly to the page, and it is under the plastic page protector. I did this because the items inside did not fit tightly and I was concerned that they would fall out too easily if they were not under the plastic page protector. The image below shows this folder open so that you can see some of the items that are inside:

Recently, for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
