2023: Memorial to Spike – Outdoors and Snuggling
This is the second spread of Spike’s Memorial Album, which showcases pictures from early in his life. Spike loved being outdoors and loved running around outside (and inside). As can be seen from the top right photo, he also loved snuggling and cuddling with us anytime he could. I have so many videos of him chasing down my son, knocking him over and jumping all over him. It was joyous for all of us.
I chose the background papers for this spread based on the colors in the photos as well as the outdoors theme. I used the same brown polka dot paper to mat all of the photos to help tie the two pages together.
I designed the Title Block on this spread using Cricut Design Space and then drawing and cutting it out using my Cricut Maker. I purchased the Golden Retriever image on Etsy and then flipped it so that he was looking to the right. In Cricut Design Space I use the “Offset” feature to create the double border around the image.
The left-hand page has another one of Spike’s vaccination tags attached with a brad, while the right-hand side border contains two pre-made stickers and a button brad. To give the right-hand page more depth and detail I created a double torn edge border as well as double matting the two pictures that are on this page.
