2023: Memorial to Spike – Christmas and Ice Skating

This is the third spread in Spike’s Memorial Album, sharing memories of Christmases past – enjoying the Christmas stocking dog treats, and trying to ice skate with us on our frozen pond in Indiana.
I chose background cardstock and the border edges from a Winter Wonderland Christmas paper pack. I like the blue tones for winter as they convey a sense of cold. The two graphics and mats for the pages were designed on Cricut Design Studio and then cut out using my Cricut Maker.
For the left-hand page I used a Cricut image and placed two pictures of Spike playing with the treats in his Christmas stocking. It was good to keep him occupied with his own stocking so that we could do our own gift unwrapping.
The right-hand page has pictures of Spike running on our frozen pond while we were trying to ice skate – he really enjoyed that, but his feet got pretty cold so we could not let him do it for very long. I combined two Cricut images – the golden retriever and the ice skates to make the image on the right. I used ink to give the ice skates some dimension and I am pretty happy with the way that they turned out.
