2023: Memorial to Spike – Final Pictures
I know that this is a sad page – but I thought that it was important to create and to share. This spread has my final two pictures of beloved Spike on it. The top right is right before we took him to the vet, and the bottom left is in the back of my car as we were saying goodbye. The moment still tugs at my heart, but it was the right thing to do as Spike could no longer walk and had stopped eating.
Creating this page has helped me to engage my emotions around saying goodbye and remembering the wonderful memories that we had over the 15 and half years he was part of our family.
The right-hand page came from the dog paper pack that I have been using and is a poem about the rainbow bridge. If you click on the picture above, you should be able to zoom in on the words to make it easier to read.
The left-hand page has the photos on a mat that I created in Cricut Design Space and then drawn and cut out using my Cricut Maker. This is a very simple page – but very meaningful to me.
