2023: Memorial to Spike – Paperwork
At the end of the Memorial Album for Spike I wanted to create a way to store all of his paperwork. To do this I decided to put it in 8.5×11 plastic page protectors so that they were more stable, and I wanted to create something that would help them look like they belonged in a 12×12 album. To do this I used the left-over cutouts (silhouettes) from the final single page, which you can see in the next blog. This creates a simple backdrop for the paperwork that is not busy.
The plastic page protectors contain the American Kennel Club Certified Pedigree certificate, Spike’s extended family tree, our church prayer list the includes our family, some sympathy emails, and some brochures that help one engage grief over the loss of a beloved pet. I thought that it was important to put these in the album in case, in the future, I am struggling with the loss, and it will be easy to find them.
