2020: Memorial to Joey – Christmas

Joey loved our Christmas tree each year – so much so that I had to put an electric shock pad around the tree to keep him out of it! Fortunately, he never knocked it down, but I may have lost a few ornaments over the years.

This spread from Joey’s memorial album shares some pictures from Christmas time at our house. The top two photos are of Joey in his Christmas outfit, which I don’t think that he was too happy about and didn’t last too long on him. The bottom two pictures are of Joey playing with my dad and aunt at Christmas time.

I designed this spread in Cricut Design Space and then used my Cricut Maker to draw the journal block, and to cut out the graphics. I used a patterned green paper for the Christmas tree, which makes it look more detailed, and then used this same paper for the matting for the photos, and for one of the torn edge borders on the left-hand side of the spread. The border for the graphic and journaling is maroon to balance the maroon in the pictures on the right-hand side of the spread. I selected the gold background paper from a Christmas paper pack.

I used leftover maroon paper from the Christmas tree graphic border to make a second torn edge border, and then used my sewing machine to stitch the ribbon decorative border which is on several of the other spreads in the album. This decorative stitched border helps to tie the album together.
