2020: Memorial to Joey – Final Page
This is the final page in the memorial album for our first cat, Joey. This page contains the last three photos that I took of Joey before he left us.
We had just moved from Indiana to Oklahoma, and these are the packing papers that we were piling up to fold and store later. Joey decided that he was going to play in them, and he was having a great time.
At this point Joey was about 12 years old and was having some medical issues, and I think that he knew that it was time for him to go.
The last page in a scrapbook album is always a single spread and is sometimes difficult to design as you have less space to work with. I decided to have a full and busy design for this page to play off of the business of the packing paper and the difficulty of finding Joey in it – which is reflected on this page – you really have to look carefully to see what is happening.
I selected browns for the color theme to match the packing paper and used a paw print and rainbow graphic to symbolize the path over the rainbow bridge. I used Cricut Design Space to create the graphics and journaling and then used my Cricut Maker to write and cut them out.
Then, to tie this final page to the Title Page and other pages in this memorial album, I used my sewing machine to stitch the ribbon decorative border onto the brown torn edge border on the left-side of the page.
Thank you so much for joining me on the remembrance journey of my departed dog and cat over the past 3 weeks, and for all of the kind words that many of you have shared with me. I want to encourage you to consider making memorial albums for your pets – I would love to see them.
