Brandon Life Update
You may have noticed that I have not posted for several months, and for this I apologize. Life has been pretty hard for the last 14 months with those loss of an aunt, two uncles and my dog Spike all in the last 4 months of 2023.
In early January 2024 it became apparent that I was going to need to find a new job and to move to a new city, and in the midst of the job search we found my mother unresponsive on the floor and 8 days later we said our final goodbyes. I continued the job search and was hired as Dean of Students at McLennan Community College in Waco, TX, three weeks after my mother’s funeral. This meant packing up, buying a new home, selling our old home, moving, and unpacking, all while dealing with loss.
McLennan Community College and Waco, TX have been a good fit for me and my father, and we are quickly making it our home. We are thankful for a rewarding and supportive job for me, and for a home that is safe and close to all of the things that we need. And, of course, Waco is an amazing place to live with a lot to do including the Magnolia Silos, Dr Pepper Museum, and the Waco Mammoth National Park, just to name a few.
All of this to say is that we are mourning and healing and unpacking. Yesterday and today I started organizing the craft room, and I hope to be creating new spreads by next weekend – so maybe you will see some new pages soon.
