2024: Memorial Title Page – For my Mother – Peggy Hill
I shared a couple of days ago in an Update that between August 2023 and Summer 2024 has been pretty rough, including the death of my mother. This week I have been working on starting the Memorial scrapbook for her two celebration of life services.
I normally start a project by making all of the pages, and completing the Title Page last, however in this case I decided that I wanted to start with the Title Page first, and then theme the rest of the album around the themes in the Title Page.
I chose do complete this project in 8.5×11 as the last part of the project is archiving all of the documents from the events most of which are 8.5×11 and often prove hard to archive in an easy way in a 12×12 format.
For the Title Page I had the picture that we used in her Memorial services printed in 5×7 size so that it would stand out on the page. I used my Cricut Maker to design and cut out the oval shapes and the Title Blocks. My handwriting is not great so it is nice to use the pen feature to do the writing for me.
I used a sewing machine to add a bow or kite border around the oval, as well as a star theme down the left hand border. You will notice a pink ribbon that is part of the left-hand border – which was from the flower bouquet that we had at my mother’s first memorial service.
The final touch was to add a butterfly that was created using my Cricut Maker.

This page is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Peggy Hill, who created memory books for me from infancy, and who inspired me to start scrapbooking to first remember a month long trip to Europe, and then later create memory books for my son, and our international exchange students, leading to the creation of over 1000 spreads and this website. I love you mom, Brandon.
