2023: Fort Worth Symphony – Music of Motown

This spread shares the experience of “Dancing in the Street: Music of Motown” at the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, in March 2023. The color scheme for this spread was chosen based on the color of the program and the blue lighting in the picture of the symphony hall.
The entire spread was designed in Cricut Design Space, and then cut out using my Cricut Maker. The left-hand page shares the program from the event and the right-side has pictures taken at the event.
The picture in the top left of the right-hand page is of one of the ceilings in a waiting area alcove and has a comet hidden in it so I wanted to include a picture of that. The picture of me is on one of what I call the “smoking balconies” on the upper levels near the angel musician sculptures on the outside of the building. The musical notation in the middle of the pictures was originally drawn using my Cricut Maker, but the pen went dry pretty quickly, so I had to complete it by hand which made it a little less distinct, but I think that it goes well with a Motown theme.
The left-hand page has a torn edge border with a line of stars that were stitched in with my sewing machine. The program was pretty thick so I took out the staples and removed most of the pages, leaving just the program and the bios of the key performers. It will be placed in the album in a way that the viewer can open it to read the inside. Instructions for how to do this can be find HERE.
