2023: Simple Room 40th Anniversary

This scrapbook spread celebrates The Simple Room’s 40th anniversary. The Simple Room is a game room and tutoring space for elementary and high school students in Greenville, Illinois. I first got involved with the organization as a junior in college, eventually working there part time during my senior year and continuing for about five years after graduation.
Since Giving Day is around the corner, I would encourage you to consider making the Simple Room one of the places you support over the next year. It relies entirely on hundreds of donors who contribute small amounts every month, which is pretty incredible. When I worked there, we were still paying the lease on the building, but now it’s fully paid off, and they’ve built a completely new facility.
The theme of this spread is blue, reflecting the logo, which is featured on the program and the sticker. The logo is a simple design representing a simple room. I used dark blue torn-edge borders, and on the left-hand side, I added a stitched pattern using a sewing machine for added texture.
The left-hand side also includes two copies of the program, both attached so you can view the front and back. On the right-hand side, there are photos from the event: the top picture shows the cake, and the bottom picture features one of the men who helped found the organization over 40 years ago, Dr. Daniel Jensen.
