2023: Disney Trip – Finding Nemo in The Seas
Duuude… We Surfed Over to The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Next up on our epic EPCOT adventure, we dove into one of my favorite chill spots—The Seas with Nemo & Friends, bro! This pavilion is totally tubular, packed with ocean vibes, Disney magic, and real marine science that’ll blow your shell off. It all starts with this mellow ride where you hop into a clam-mobile and cruise along with Marlin and Dory, trying to find our little buddy Nemo. The animation blends right into the real aquarium, making it feel like you’re swimming right there with the gang—righteous!
After the ride, you enter one of the gnarliest saltwater tanks around, filled with dolphins, manatees, sharks, sea turtles (my people!), and all kinds of colorful reef dudes. There’s even Turtle Talk with Crush, where I come out and, like, totally chat with humans in real time. It’s interactive, hilarious, and all-around off the hook, especially for the little dudes and dudettes.
For this splashy scrapbook spread, I used swimming pool background paper ‘cause it had that flowy wave energy I wanted. The whole layout was created in Cricut Design Space and cut out on my Cricut Maker. It took, like, two hours, no joke, because of all the intricate little cuts needed to build Dory, Nemo, Crush, and even the starfish dude. I added some bubble shapes around the page to keep the motion going, like the ocean’s always moving, ya know?
The bottom left photo shows Turtle Talk with me—Crush! But snapping a clear shot of me on screen? Not so easy, bro. The photos kept coming out totally fuzzy, so I used this rad Crush sticker from a kids’ activity pack instead—worked like a charm! Oh, and Dory is strategically placed next to my son to help hide someone in the photo we didn’t want included. All of these characters were already in Cricut’s design library, which made things super simple.
One of my favorite parts? I used this textured 3D-style paper for Crush’s shell and skin—it gives him that totally real surf-ready look, like he’s about to swim right off the page!
