2023: Disney Trip – Epcot World Showcase – China & Italy

Sometimes I combine two pavilions on one scrapbook spread, as you can see in this layout that celebrates both the China Pavilion and the Italy Pavilion at EPCOT.
China Pavilion at EPCOT World Showcase
The China Pavilion is a peaceful and majestic tribute to the heritage and harmony found in Chinese culture—reminding me of the grace and strength portrayed in Mulan. Guests walk through a stunning replica of the Temple of Heaven, surrounded by tranquil gardens, curved bridges, and still ponds that reflect the beauty of the space, much like Mulan reflecting on who she is inside. Inside the Circle-Vision film Reflections of China, sweeping views of the Great Wall, the Yangtze River, and ancient cities come together in a stirring tribute to a proud and storied land.
For the left-hand page of this layout, I used Cricut Design Space to create the design. The title block and background paper are both from Scrapyourtrip.com. You’ll also notice a cut file of Mulan herself, placed with purpose to gently cover a person in one of the photos—a small act of creative problem-solving that keeps the spread harmonious.
Italy Pavilion at EPCOT World Showcase
The Italy Pavilion sparkles with charm and character, a visual feast worthy of Ratatouille’s motto: “Anyone can cook”—and everyone can enjoy! Inspired by iconic cities like Venice, Florence, and Rome, the pavilion features grand columns, cobblestone piazzas, and the proud replica of St. Mark’s Campanile. Classical music, bubbling fountains, and street performers transport you to the heart of Italy, while wood-fired pizzas and handmade pastas tempt you at Via Napoli and Tutto Italia.
On the right-hand page of this spread, I again used Cricut Design Space for the layout and purchased the Remy and Alfredo graphic SVG file from Etsy. The Italy title block and background paper are also from Scrapyourtrip.com. If you look closely, you’ll see a second Alfredo—this one was drawn with a Cricut pen using my Cricut Maker, and hand-colored by me. I also carefully pieced together several photos to recreate the background, allowing me to place the Alfredo image in just the right spot to cover someone we chose not to include in the final layout.
