2023: Disney Trip – Epcot – Akershus Royal Banquet Hall – Tiana & Ariel

This spread continues our magical dining adventure at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase, featuring two more princesses we met during the meal: Tiana and Ariel.
Tiana is featured on the left-hand page. The hardworking and ambitious heroine of The Princess and the Frog (2009), Tiana is admired for her determination, resilience, and dream of opening her own restaurant in New Orleans. Her story emphasizes the power of persistence—reminding us that wishing on a star is just the beginning, and real success comes from hard work and heart. For this layout, I had a bit of fun with the design. I repurposed a background paper from a 1990s Disney Princess cardstock kit—originally themed around Tinker Bell! Using my Creative Memories circle cutters, I created lily pads to both fit the theme and cleverly conceal parts of the page I didn’t want visible. The upper circle hides Tinker Bell (you can still spot the tip of her wing), while the bottom lily pad covers a person in the photo we chose not to include. I added a Princess Tiana sticker to the top circle to make it look like she was always meant to be there. I used Cricut Design Space and my Cricut Maker to create the title block, frog cutout, and lily pads. A photocopy of Tiana’s autograph from our book is also featured, matted in soft green to coordinate with the page’s palette.
Ariel is featured on the right-hand page. The curious and free-spirited mermaid from The Little Mermaid (1989), Ariel is beloved for her adventurous nature and determination to explore life beyond the sea. With her fiery red hair, sparkling tail, and unforgettable voice, she inspires fans to follow their dreams—even when it means taking risks and embracing change. Her story of courage, curiosity, and transformation continues to resonate with dreamers of all ages.
This page uses another background sheet from the same vintage 1990s Disney Princess scrapbook kit. The Ariel title block was purchased from Scrapyourtrip.com, but I added a custom SVG of Sebastian to bring more characters to the layout. I used a circular cutout to bridge Sebastian into the page design while also concealing a person in the photo we didn’t wish to feature. Ariel’s autograph, like Tiana’s, is a photocopy from our autograph book and is matted in light green for consistency across the spread.
