Magnolia Table Restaurant, Waco TX

I knew that if I made it all the way to Waco and skipped the iconic tourist stops, my designer friends would never let me hear the end of it—so I made sure to grab breakfast at Magnolia Table. It felt like a rite of passage, and honestly, it lived up to the hype.
Magnolia Table is a popular breakfast and lunch restaurant in Waco, Texas, created by Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame. Housed in a beautifully restored historic building, the restaurant blends vintage charm with modern comfort, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu focuses on fresh, home-style dishes made with locally sourced ingredients—favorites include the farmhouse breakfast, avocado toast, and the famed Gaines Brothers Burger. From the signature biscuits to the thoughtful décor, every detail reflects the Gaines’ signature style of hospitality and Southern charm. Magnolia Table has become a must-visit destination for fans and food lovers alike, capturing the heart of Waco one plate at a time.
Alright, so for this spread, I wanted to channel a little of that Magnolia charm—think clean lines, bold contrast, and a touch of sky-blue simplicity. I picked a light blue and white color palette to mirror the open Texas sky and paired it with black-and-white accents inspired by the classic Magnolia Table aesthetic. On the left-hand page, I tucked the actual menu from my visit into a small stitched pocket—yep, I fired up the sewing machine and ran a line of black thread across the bottom for both function and flair. I also added a slice of the Magnolia Table napkin to the page. It was a bit big, so I trimmed it down to size, kind of like demo day but for paper.
Now, over on the right-hand page, I squeezed in five photos that look like four—classic Chip move, right? The top right image is actually two cropped shots stacked together, both featuring the inspiring quotes you’ll find sprinkled throughout the restaurant. The other three photos capture different angles of the outside, including the iconic Magnolia Table sign. Smack dab in the center, I used Cricut Design Space to recreate the Magnolia Table logo and had my Cricut Maker draw it in with a pen for that hand-touched feel.
