2024: Magnolia Press and Silos Baking Co., Waco, TX

While in Waco, I made sure to stop by Magnolia Press Coffee Shop and the Silos Baking Co., and I’m so glad I did. Magnolia Press offered the perfect cozy spot to relax with a warm drink, and just steps away, the Silos Baking Co. served up some of the best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted. Trust me, those cupcakes are worth every bite!
Magnolia Press is the perfect spot to slow down and savor the moment in the heart of Waco. Designed with rich wood tones, vintage-inspired fixtures, and cozy leather seating, it feels like stepping into an old-world coffeehouse with a modern twist. Whether you’re grabbing a handcrafted latte to fuel your day or settling in with a book and a pastry, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and unmistakably Magnolia. The attention to detail—from the branded coffee sleeves to the beautifully tiled floors—makes it not just a coffee stop, but an experience worth lingering over.
Just a short stroll away, the Silos Baking Co. continues the Magnolia magic with a sweet twist. Housed in a charming white cottage at the edge of the Silos property, this bakery is beloved for its cupcakes, cookies, and pastries—all baked fresh daily. The inside is cozy and inviting, with farmhouse touches and the kind of smell that wraps you up like a hug. Together, Magnolia Press and Silos Baking Co. offer the perfect pairing of comfort and indulgence, capturing the heart of Waco one sip and one bite at a time.
For this spread, I chose backgrounds that reflect the textures and tones you’ll find throughout the Magnolia Silos—soft, weathered, and full of character. The left-hand page features a white cracked paint design that reminds me of an old farmhouse wall, perfectly imperfect. It holds snapshots from Magnolia Press, along with a trimmed postcard sketch of the coffee shop’s exterior. I also repurposed a paper bag from the Silos Baking Co.—because sometimes the simplest pieces hold the sweetest memories—and used my Cricut to craft a little coffee cup tucked into the top left corner, like a quiet morning moment captured on the page.
On the right-hand side, the background shifts to a warm, rusted metal pattern, evoking the soul of the Silos themselves. This page includes photos from the Silos Baking Co., a hand-painted wall sign marking Magnolia’s 20-year milestone, and a few rare pictures of me standing in front of the Silos. I don’t usually include many photos of myself in my scrapbooks—selfies just aren’t my thing—but this trip was different. After my mother’s recent passing, I wanted my family to see that I was okay, and those moments of healing ended up in my camera roll… and on this page. I finished things off with a Cricut-made cupcake embellishment, a little nod to the sweet comfort found in both frosting and family.
