2024: Disney Dreams that Soar

This final spread in our Disney Springs scrapbook captures one of the most enchanting surprises of our trip: the Disney Dreams That Soar drone show. Designed to celebrate the characters who dare to dream big and fly high—like Baymax, Dumbo, Peter Pan, and Buzz Lightyear—this breathtaking nighttime display lit up the sky with shimmering shapes and glowing colors, all choreographed to a soaring soundtrack of classic Disney music.
For this layout, I went a bit off-script and chose black and gray for the background—an unusual choice for a Disney spread, but one that lets the glowing drone images truly shine. If you’ve ever tried photographing fireworks, you’ll understand my relief: drones are way easier to capture! They hover in place, allowing for crisp, dramatic shots.
On the left-hand page, I used my Cricut Maker to draw an illustrated fireworks burst—just a little visual hint that this show, like fireworks, is pure Disney nighttime magic. On the right, you’ll find two more photos along with a shooting firework element. Rather than painstakingly gluing each trail piece (which my glue-covered fingers did not enjoy during earlier pages), I had the design cut as part of the border and backed it with a bold red paper. Much easier, and just as impactful!
Tucked into this spread are two final pieces of ephemera: our welcome folder from the hotel and the Disney Springs map. I’ve attached them to the outside of the page protector so they can be flipped through—like opening a mini guidebook to our adventure.
If you haven’t yet seen Disney Dreams That Soar, I highly recommend it. The skies over Disney Springs have never felt more magical. Click below to watch the creation of this page:
