2021: Fort Worth Stockyards

The third spread in my Dallas / Fort Worth trip chronicles the day spent at the Fort Worth Stockyards. This is a great family friendly site with many things to do including shopping, fun places to eat, museums, activities for kids, and the twice daily Cattle Herd at 11:30am and 4:00pm.

Visitors Tip: Arrive way before the Cattle Herd times so that you can find a place to park and get to the main street for the Cattle Drive – the road is blocked before the event and the sides of the roads often get crowded with people there for the event.

I chose a multi color brown theme for this page to match the colors of the cows in the picture, and the cowhide coaster which is on the spread. I used my Cricut machine to cut out the Texas outline and the steer head that you see on the pages. If you look carefully you can see that the leftover cutout from the Texas outline on the left page is used as a border on the right page. The second border was created using a jagged edge tearing tool.

One of my favorite parts of this spread is the cowhide coaster, which I purchased in one of the giftshops, and is attached to the page with quite a bit of double-sided adhesive tabs. I used Cricut Design Space to create the matting for the coaster and the other pictures on that page.

Recently, for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
