2022: NXL Paintball World Cup – 1
In November 2022 my son played in the NXL Paintball World Cup in Orlando, Florida with his paintball team – the Brevard Buccaneers. I flew down to watch for a couple of days and had a great time. This is the first of three scrapbook spreads that I made to remember this adventure.
I used Cricut Design Space to create this layout. The buccaneer, paint splats, and the paintball gun were all graphics from Design Space. I was able to create the NXL Logo as well and insert that into the layout. The paintball gun was drawn with the pen feature of the Cricut Machine, and all of the other pieces were cut out using the same machine. You may recognize some of these graphics from earlier paintball pages I did for my son earlier in 2022. The buccaneer is a great example of this: Between these two events the team colors changed, and so on this page I have selected browns and yellows to create the buccaneer. This graphic took a long time to cut and to put together as there are many layers to the graphic – but I like the three-dimensional effect that it has on the page.
The pictures on the left-hand side are ones that I took of the team. You may wonder why the picture of my son looks a little grainy – it is because I took it through the netting while he was inside on the playing field. The pictures on the right-hand side were taken by a professional photographer who was on the inside of the netting during the game. To create a boundary for this spread I used a brown torn edge border.
