2023: Oklahoma State Capitol

I spent Valentine’s Day 2023 at the Oklahoma State Capitol! Not the most romantic place, but a great experience non-the-less. We were there for Higher Education Day where our students had opportunity to hear from the State Leaders.

I themed this spread purple to highlight the color in the rotunda ceiling in the far left picture. The ephemera on the page include a patch that I purchased at the gift shop on the first floor, the explanation of the Seal of Oklahoma on the patch, and a stamped date documenting when I was at the State Capitol. You can request these stamps at most Federal and State locations as they are part of a passport program designed to build interest in children in historical sites.

I then used Cricut Design Space to create the Oklahoma State outline and the matting for the whole spread and cut it out on my Cricut Maker. The borders were created using a jagged edge tearing tool, and then I used my sewing machine to stitch the star border.
