2023: Dallas World Aquarium 1

It has been about five weeks since I posted last, but now that it is Christmas Break I have had some time to work on projects from 2023! So over the next few weeks hopefully I will catch up and you will get to see a whole bunch more projects.

This spread is the first of several from March 2023 where my son came to visit me during my Spring Break. It was so nice to have him with us for a couple of days. His flight landed in Dallas, and so we decided to do a few things in Dallas before heading back to my home in Oklahoma.

The first stop was the Dallas World Aquarium, which is an indoor aquarium that also has lots of animals and birds – it may be fair to say that it is almost more of a zoo. It is multi-level – but they do such a great job of twisting the pathways around that you hardly realize that you are changing levels.

The left-hand page has the logo from the Aquarium which I cut out using my Cricut Maker after designing the entire spread in Cricut Design Space. I chose to use the bamboo paper as a border on each side to highlight the bamboo poles that are used throughout the aquarium as railing.

The right-hand page has a picture of a sloth – it is hard to see, but I promise that it is hanging from the branches, and so I cut out the cartoon sloth to help highlight what is in the picture. Come to think of it – maybe I should have hung him upside down!
