2023: Upward Bound Trip – Revere Beach

The first night of our trip was spent at a hotel on Revere Beach. I got up early in the morning to take some pictures of the sunrise, and then before we boarded the bus we spent some time at the edge of the water and getting some group pictures.
Revere Beach, located just north of Boston, is renowned as the oldest public beach in the United States, established in 1896. This historic seaside destination offers a unique blend of natural beauty, recreation, and a rich cultural legacy. With its expansive shoreline and soft sands, Revere Beach is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and leisurely walks along the ocean. It’s also famous for hosting the annual Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival, which draws talented artists and spectators from around the world. The beach is complemented by a scenic promenade lined with restaurants, ice cream shops, and local vendors, making it a lively yet relaxing retreat for both locals and visitors.
Obviously, it was important to choose a beach theme for this page; however, I could not find any sand paper. So, I decided to use photographic corkboard instead, as I felt it would mimic the look of sand, and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. The matting for the photos is done in a light brown to stay consistent with the theme.
This design was created in Cricut Design Space and cut out and drawn using my Cricut Maker. You will notice that I placed a seashell in the middle of the pictures on the left-hand side. Additionally, I found an image of a clock similar to the one on the beach. I imported this into Cricut Design Space, drew it with a metallic marker, and then cut it out. I’m very happy with the way it all came together.
