2023: Upward Bound Trip - Paul Revere House

The first item on our itinerary for our second day was the Paul Revere House.

The Paul Revere House, located in Boston’s North End, is one of the city’s most treasured historic landmarks and the oldest surviving structure in downtown Boston, built around 1680. This modest wooden home was the residence of Paul Revere during the time of his famous midnight ride in 1775, when he warned the colonists of the British advance. Today, the house serves as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into colonial life and the pivotal role Revere played in the American Revolution. The carefully preserved interiors feature period furnishings, artifacts, and exhibits detailing Revere’s life as a patriot, silversmith, and family man. Nestled within the vibrant North End neighborhood, the Paul Revere House provides a tangible connection to Boston’s revolutionary history and remains a must-visit site along the Freedom Trail.

One of the interesting aspects of this spread is that photography is not allowed inside the Paul Revere House. As a result, the three internal photographs you see are actually postcards purchased at the site’s gift shop. The photos I took myself include the exterior of the building, visible on the left-hand page, and a picture of our group waiting for the tour in the courtyard, which is on the right-hand page.

The brochure from the Paul Revere House, displayed on the left, is attached to the outside of the plastic page protector so that it can be opened and viewed by the reader. On the right-hand page, you will notice a circular sticker purchased from the gift shop and a smaller circle, which is a date stamp for historical locations. These date stamps can be found in many historic national landmarks, and I always try to collect them as they help document the place and time of the visit. Normally, I bring extra paper for stamping, but on this trip, I forgot. As a result, I improvised by stamping on the brown paper envelope that the sticker was given to me in by the gift shop.

Both circular items were cut out using Creative Memories circle cutters. The matting for both sides of the spread was designed in Cricut Design Space and cut out with my Cricut Maker. To ensure the circles were cut accurately, I carefully measured and inserted them into the design as guides. This allowed the Cricut Maker to precisely cut out matting for these circle ephemeras.
