2023: Branson – A Feast for the Senses
Unlike my usual chronological scrapbook spreads, this page serves up a tasting menu of memories, capturing snapshots from five different restaurants during our Branson vacation. In the top left, a moment from a rolled ice cream shop, where creamy ribbons were curled into delicate swirls before our eyes. The bottom left showcases a sushi train restaurant—a unique experience captured in Tulsa—where plates of sushi glided past us on a miniature locomotive, waiting to be plucked like treasures. The right side of the spread features images from three Branson eateries, including a stop at Sugar Leaf, where we indulged in a slice of heavenly key lime pie with the perfect balance of tart and sweet. To tie the theme together, I had fun with the titling, using food elements to spell out the word “FOOD”—a banana for the “F”, a donut for the “O”, a dinner plate for the second “O”, and a watermelon slice for the “D”. These playful letters, along with the custom-matted photos and a cut-out of a train (paying homage to the sushi train restaurant), were all designed in Cricut Design Space and brought to life with my Cricut Maker. This page is a visual feast, much like the incredible meals we enjoyed, preserving the flavors and fun of Branson in every detail.
