2023: Disney Trip – EPCOT Title Page

A Day at EPCOT: Slower Pace, Big Memories

When planning this trip, I intentionally chose EPCOT for our full park day because I wanted a more relaxed experience—one where we could move at an adult pace, take our time, and enjoy the incredible dining options. One of my top goals for the day was to visit the Space 220 Restaurant, which I’ll be sharing more about in a future post.

For a little background: EPCOT—short for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow—was originally imagined by Walt Disney as a functioning futuristic city. After his passing, the concept was reimagined and opened in 1982 as Walt Disney World’s second theme park. Today, EPCOT is a celebration of innovation, technology, and global culture. It’s divided into World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature, which explore science, technology, and the natural world; and World Showcase, where 11 countries are represented through immersive pavilions featuring architecture, food, and entertainment. Whether you’re riding Spaceship Earth, soaring above the world on Soarin’, or snacking around the globe, EPCOT offers something for every kind of guest.

This layout serves as the title page for our EPCOT day, and though it’s simple, it sets the tone for the pages that follow. The featured photo is of my son and me waiting at rope drop, just moments before I was able to snag a last-minute reservation at Space 220—something I had been trying to book for 60 days! It was a lucky break, and one of the most memorable moments of the trip.

The background paper and title block on the right-hand page both came from ScrapYourTrip.com, which continues to be a go-to resource for my themed pages. I designed and cut the Spaceship Earth and Mickey graphic on the left-hand page using Cricut Design Space and my Cricut machine, and I also included the park guide map—attached on the outside of the page protector so it can be flipped through by the viewer. It’s a fun interactive touch that helps set the stage for the EPCOT adventures that follow.
