Inside Space 220: Dining in Galactic Style

This spread captures the inside of Space 220 Restaurant, where we finally arrived after our “mission launch” via the space elevator. Once docked at the space station, we were officially 220 miles above Earth—and ready to dine like Star Command cadets on leave.

Space 220 is truly one of EPCOT’s most immersive dining experiences. The adventure starts with a thrilling elevator ride into orbit, giving you a bird’s-eye view of Earth as you ascend into the stars. Once inside the station, massive panoramic windows reveal a dynamic view of outer space—astronauts floating by, satellites drifting, and yes, even a few surprising easter eggs. The prix-fixe menu delivers a futuristic take on modern American dining, with dishes that are as artful as they are delicious. If you’re looking for a dining experience that’s literally out of this world—this is it.

For this layout, I chose a night sky background paper to reflect our new location—deep in space. Along the bottom of the spread, I created a photo sequence showing the entryway, the bar, and the stunning design of the restaurant itself. The final image on the right shows my son and me sitting right by the space windows—mission accomplished! Above that, you’ll spot a photo of astronauts floating outside the station, part of the immersive view. If you look closely, you’ll even see one of the Toy Story aliens peeking in—strategically placed, of course, to hide someone we didn’t want in the frame. As Buzz might say, a little alien backup from the claw never hurts!

One of my favorite parts of this page is how I treated the photos of our food. I used my Creative Memories circle cutter to shape them into circles and ovals, echoing both the roundness of the plates and the planetary vibe of our surroundings. Some of the meals looked like constellations on a plate—truly edible art. And yes, the food was stellar.

To help tie the theme together, I added a menu card to the top left corner. This was originally a table tent from our meal, which I trimmed down to fit the layout. At the time, many restaurants were still using QR code menus due to lingering COVID precautions, but I was happy to have a tangible piece to include—something to remember this galactic dining experience by.

Overall, this spread really captures the magic and mission of Space 220. We had an unforgettable time, and I’d highly recommend it to any Disney guest looking to go to infinity and beyond—without ever leaving EPCOT.
