2023: Disney Trip – Epcot World Showcase – Mexico

¡Bienvenidos a México! Starting Our World Showcase Journey Right
After exploring the innovation and nature-filled experiences of World Discovery and World Nature, we made our way back to the World Showcase—and, as far as I’m concerned, there’s only one right way to start: with Mexico. Nestled beneath the towering Mesoamerican pyramid, the Mexico Pavilion welcomes guests into a twilight-lit world that feels like a lively plaza at dusk, glowing with lanterns, filled with artisan goods, and echoing with the joyful sounds of mariachi music.
Inside, we boarded the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros, a whimsical boat ride that follows Donald Duck, Panchito, and José Carioca as they explore the heart and soul of Mexico. It’s lighthearted and colorful, mixing Disney magic with real cultural backdrops in a way that’s muy divertido for all ages. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, there’s something timeless about this pavilion that makes it a must-see.
Outside the ride, there’s a whole world to enjoy—literally. From handcrafted margaritas at La Cava del Tequila, to a cozy riverside dinner at San Angel Inn Restaurante, and even the Mexico Folk Art Gallery with its rotating cultural displays, this pavilion blends tradición with storytelling in every detail. Whether by day or under the warm nighttime glow, Mexico feels alive, welcoming, and full of corazón.
For this scrapbook spread, I used background paper and the Mexico title block from ScrapYourTrip.com, and I loved how they set the tone for the page. The photos are bordered in red and green as a nod to the colors of the Mexican flag. The two pictures on the right-hand side were taken during the day, and the one on the left-hand side captures the pavilion beautifully at night, just as we were wrapping up our visit.
The Donald Duck character was customized in Cricut Design Space, using the base image and adding a sombrero and poncho blanket to give him that festive flair that ties into the theme of the pavilion. One detail I’m especially proud of is the woven Mexican flag piece on the right-hand side—it’s a souvenir I actually picked up in the pavilion during a previous trip. I hadn’t found the right place for it in that album, so I held onto it—and it fits perfectly here. I also added a torn edge border on the left-hand side to give the layout more texture and dimension.
This spread really captures the spirit of Mexico: warm, colorful, and full of life. If you’d like to watch the process behind the design, click the video below and follow along!
