Sweet Treats and Fun Finds: Exploring Disney Springs
After our amazing meal at Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, we hopped on one of the complimentary Disney buses and made our way to the next adventure—Disney Springs!
Disney Springs in Orlando is a vibrant, open-air destination that combines the magic of Disney with world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment. Nestled along the shores of Lake Buena Vista, this sprawling district invites guests to explore four distinct neighborhoods—The Landing, Town Center, Marketplace, and West Side—each offering its own unique atmosphere and attractions. From luxury retailers like Coach and Uniqlo to Disney-exclusive favorites like World of Disney and The Art of Disney, it’s a true shopper’s paradise. Food lovers will find everything from gourmet meals at The Boathouse to indulgent treats at Gideon’s Bakehouse and whimsical snacks at kiosks and food trucks. With live music performances, a vintage amphicar ride on the lake, and the iconic Aerophile balloon soaring above, Disney Springs offers the perfect way to extend the magic beyond the parks.
For this scrapbook spread, I wanted to capture the variety of experiences we enjoyed during our visit.
The left-hand page focuses on some of the food stops we made, including a highlight—Goofy’s Candy Company. To bring the theme to life, I cut out part of our plastic candy bag and attached it to the page using brads, giving it a playful, interactive feel. The background paper is actually a photograph of gummy bears, perfectly tying into the Goofy’s Candy Company theme. Behind the fold-out map of Disney Springs (which I attached to the outside of the plastic page protector for easy viewing), you’ll spot a custom mat in the shape of a gummy bear. And yes—the gummy bear is holding a tiny bottle of mead, a fun nod to our visit to the Savannah Bee Company, where we sampled honey meads!
The right-hand page highlights some candid shots of us enjoying the day. You’ll notice that I overlapped a few photos—this was a creative way to crop out someone we chose not to include in this album. I also added a business card from The Ganachery, one of Disney Springs’ must-visit chocolate shops. You might also spot a few turquoise “G” stickers tucked into the design—special extras that my son managed to score simply by asking! (They’re normally used to seal chocolate bags, but they made perfect embellishments for the page.)
We had such a great time wandering Disney Springs, sampling treats, browsing unique shops, and just soaking in the atmosphere. If you have extra time during your Disney trip and want a relaxed yet magical experience, Disney Springs is the perfect spot to explore.
