2023: Thanksgiving: A Coastal Pause After Disney Magic

After wrapping up our Disney adventure, we took a short drive south to Pompano Beach to spend Thanksgiving Day with my aunt. This visit provided a serene contrast to the excitement of the parks, and I chose to document it in our annual album rather than the Disney one, as it felt like a distinct chapter in our 2023 story.
The background papers for this layout is are vintage blue sheets, likely from the ’90s, inherited from another aunt’s collection. To frame the page, I employed a double torn-edge border, adding texture and a sense of depth.
On the left-hand page, I utilized Cricut Design Space to create a custom layout, which I then cut and drew using my Cricut Maker. The top-left photo features a traditional South African milk tart—a nostalgic nod to my heritage. Accompanying images include a snapshot of my son and me during our drive, the view from my aunt’s apartment balcony, and a group photo of my son, my aunt, and myself. In this particular photo, I carefully edited out an individual by trimming and repositioning my son, achieving a seamless result.
The right-hand page showcases a picture of my son and me on the Pompano Beach Pier. To discreetly remove an unwanted background figure, I incorporated a pelican graphic from Cricut Design Space, blending it naturally into the scene. Additional photos capture pelicans and moments of us enjoying the water, encapsulating the relaxed atmosphere of the day.
This layout serves as a gentle transition from our Disney escapade to a family-oriented Thanksgiving, preserving the warmth and simplicity of the holiday.
