2024: Disney Spring – Eet and Sorbet Flight

This two-page scrapbook spread captures one whirlwind evening of foodie fun at Disney Springs—a night filled with bold flavors, creative presentation, and just the right pinch of Disney magic.
The story begins on Friday night, shortly after I arrived in Orlando. My son and I didn’t waste a minute—we headed straight to Disney Springs and made our way to EET by Maneet Chauhan, a vibrant restaurant dishing up modern Indian cuisine with a colorful, contemporary twist. We’re both big fans of Chopped (where Maneet is a judge), and as a professional chef, my son is always up for trying innovative cuisine. This was a bucket-list bite for both of us, and the experience absolutely delivered.
The left-hand page of this layout is anchored by the rich, warm tones of the meal and includes a few carefully curated bits of ephemera: the restaurant’s business card, a used gift card, and a photograph of my drink cup that I meticulously fussy-cut with a sharp pair of scissors to preserve as a 3D-style embellishment. I used double matting on each photo to help them stand out from the background, which—while not officially licensed—is made from a Disney-inspired cardstock pack I inherited. It gives off subtle Disney vibes, which fits the theme perfectly without overpowering the restaurant’s refined, global feel.
The right-hand page offers a completely different taste—both literally and visually. The next day, I couldn’t resist indulging in something cool and refreshing from Swirls on the Water, Disney Springs’ whimsical soft-serve and sorbet shop. I opted for the sorbet flight, which came in a playful, divided tasting tray. It was just begging to be part of this layout—so I saved the tray and mounted it directly onto the page!
Each of the sorbet photos is peeking through the tray’s compartments, giving the viewer a real sense of how it was served. Behind it, I created a giant ice cream swirl embellishment using Cricut Design Space, which pulls the whole theme together and adds a burst of whimsy. It’s one of those subtle nods to Disney’s playfulness—where even dessert feels like an attraction.
While the overall layout is relatively simple, it’s rich with texture, dimension, and joyful memories. From the spicy complexity of Indian food to the sweet chill of sorbet, this spread showcases the contrast and connection of two shared moments—just a couple of hours apart, but equally full of flavor and fun.
And of course, Mickey had to sneak in somewhere. Look closely—you’ll spot his classic silhouette tucked in the background, keeping watch over our culinary adventure:
“Gawrsh! Now that’s what I call a delicious detour—ha ha!”
