2023: Upward Bound Trip - Album Cover Close Up

2023: Upward Bound Trip – Album Cover

2023: Upward Bound Trip - Album Cover

I always wait until I’ve completed an album before choosing its cover. This allows me to see the project’s full theme—both in terms of color and design—while also ensuring the album is the right size for the number of pages I’ve created. For this trip, I ended up with 35 spreads, which totaled nearly three inches thick. To accommodate this, I used a three-ring, 4-inch binder, which worked perfectly to hold everything in a single album.

The binder I chose from my storage had a window pocket on the front cover and another on the spine. To personalize it, I used Cricut Design Space to adapt the logo and title from my album’s title page to fit these spaces. Then, with my Cricut Maker, I drew and cut the designs to the exact dimensions needed. You can see the final product in the pictures to the right. If you click on them you will get larger versions so that you can see more detail. I love how these details tie the outside of the album to its contents, giving the whole project a cohesive and polished look.

This marks the final blog post about my Upward Bound trip to Boston and New York in May 2023. I hope you’ve enjoyed following along as I shared this journey over the past month. With this album complete, I’m looking forward to diving into the rest of my 2023 spreads soon. Stay tuned!
