2016: Louisville Zoo
During our Fall Break Trip we made a short one day trip to Louisville, KY and I spent some time at the Louisville Zoo. While there I spent about an hour sitting and watching the elephants. This, combined with the fact that the Zoo brochure featured an elephant on the front, convinced me to use an African Elephant theme for this page.
I have a safari paper pack that had the back ground paper with the elephant on it that you can see in the bottom right hand corner. I used a jagged edge tearing tool to tear the paper and create this rather large border for the spread. I also used this same paper to border the pictures on the left hand page, and to create the torn edge border on the left page.
I used a double border on the pictures on the right hand page – one solid color, and one with a pattern, to help the pictures stand out against the busy background paper. I also attached the zoo brochure to the outside of the plastic page protector so that the viewer could open it to read.
