50th Anniversary: Dollywood – Panning for Jewels
My nephews and nieces wanted to pan for gold and gems at the Dollywood Lucky 7 Mine. So my mother bought them a 10 pound bag of dirt and divided out so that they could all get some. And the bag made it onto this spread! I took out the tie strap as it was too thick, and sewed the edges of the bag to the 12×12 black background cardboard page – it just barley fit. I then put the ephemera from this event into the bag – explanations of the different types of stones, and the brochure from the shop.
For the right hand page I chose a stone background paper and placed the pictures so that they filled the page from top to bottom. I did not put a border on these pictures as I wanted the stone background to be more prominent. Notice that a metal butterfly made it onto the bottom right hand corner to tie this page into the rest of the 50th Anniversary Album.
