2011: Saugatuck, MI Weekend: Twin Gables Inn and Keewatin Maritime Museum

For a long weekend my son and I went up to visit the sites at Saugatuck, Michigan. The next few spreads will show our adventures from that weekend. Remember that this page was created early in my scrapbooking career and therefore is quite simple, with just the presentation of photographs and ephemera and no embellishments.
The lefthand page shares items from the Twin Gables Inn, the beautiful Bed and Breakfast where we stayed for the weekend. Unfortunately, it looks like this delightful hotel is no longer open, which is sad because we had a great experience. The brochure on the left is attached to the outside of the plastic page protector so that it can be opened to be viewed. There is a photograph of a historic marker at the site which I cut to shape with a pair of sharp pointed scissors. Underneath that is a piece of note paper from the hotel, on top of which is a cut picture of the sign in the yard of the hotel.
The righthand page has pictures and a brochure from the Steamship Keewatin Maritime Museum. Unfortunately, the museum was no longer open as the ship had been sold and was being moved to Canada! But I was able to get these pictures and the brochure which is attached to the outside of the plastic page protector.
