2021: Tiger King and Farewell

This is the last spread for 2021 and it combines two different events – a quick stop to see Tiger King, and saying goodbye to my son at the airport and the end of 2021.

When we were at the Toy and Action Figure Museum, we realized that we were not too far away from the former Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park which was owned by Joe Exotic and was the filming location of Netflix Tiger King. I was not sure what to expect but we drove up to the front entrance and I parked and we walked around the outside. The left page has some pictures of us in front of the entrance building were much of the drama took place, and a picture that I took through the fence. It is abandoned now. I used Cricut Design Space to create the title and mat that went around the photos, as well as the second mat which helped to make it easier to read the “Tiger King” cutout. The orange them of this spread was based on the color of the tiger cutout.

The right-hand page contains pictures of my son going through security at the airport and a picture of us sharing a moment through the glass saying our final goodbyes. I knew at this moment that I would probably not see him again for six months and so it was an emotional moment for both of us. The title and custom mats were made using Cricut Design Space and cut out on my Cricut machine. It is a little hard to read, but it does cause the viewer to pause and examine it more carefully and recognize the emotion of the moment.

Recently, for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
