2018: Indianapolis Museum of Art
One Saturday in late March I went to Indianapolis to visit the Museum of Art (now named “Newfields“) and practically got trapped in an unusually late snow storm! It was a great day to spend inside contemplating and enjoying the creation of famous artists.
The green theme for this spread is based on the colors of the Museum map which is on the left hand page. It is affixed to the background paper, so if someone wanted to look inside of it they would need to pull the whole page out of the plastic page protector. I did this because it was too heavy and had too many pages to affix in a way that the user could look at it in another mounting method.
I used a jagged edge tearing tool to create the rough borders on both sides of the spread, and placed a metal butterfly in the middle of the pictures to tie together the large animal sculptures at the museum and the metal in many of the other works of art.
