2021: Spring Break 2021 – Pensacola Beach

As you can tell from Spring Break 2021 being the second post of 2021 that we were still greatly impacted by COVID-19 at this point in time. I went to visit my son in Florida only after getting my third vaccination and making sure that he had his first. I drove the whole way to avoid flying at this point in time.

I started driving as soon as I could on a Thursday morning and went as far as I could before getting tired. At a rest stop I made a hotels.com reservation for a hotel in Pensacola Beach and arrived after it was already dark, so I enjoyed some delicious but expensive sushi in the hotel restaurant which was so good and beautiful that it made it onto this spread! The next morning I got up early in the morning so that I could enjoy the sunrise and then get on the road to beat the traffic across the bridge and make the rest of the trip to Palm Bay, FL.

I used my Cricut Machine to cut out the two title bars as well as the sushi in the middle of the right hand page. Background papers were chosen in browns and tans to match the color of the sushi board and the colors in the sunrise pictures. The dark brown paper with the circle cut out of it was leftover from another project but I thought that it would look good on this page with the circle of tan showing through to hint at the shape of the sun in the sunrise photos.

Moving forward, for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
