2021: Spring Break 2021 – SpaceX Falcon 9 Launch
Part of our Spring Break 2021 adventures was getting up really early to watch a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch. My son, who lives in the area uses Space Launch Now app, to know when the launches are going to occur, and he told me ahead of time that this would happen while I was there. I have always wanted to watch a launch and so we planned to make sure that we could see it. I think that we got up at 3am so that we would be there on time. As it was early morning and really dark, and I wanted to video the launch rather than take pictures, I only got one picture that I thought was putting on the spread, and even that one was not really clear. So I knew that the graphics on the page would be important to share the story. I used a space background paper, and found all 4 graphics online: SpaceX logo, Falcon 9 logo, SpaceX rocket, and the 2021 title rocket block that takes up the entire right-hand page. I used Cricut Design Studio to design all 4 and my Cricut machine to cut them out. The SpaceX rocket graphic has a pen drawing using the Cricut machine and then finished it with the cutout. I bordered the photo in white to help it stand out against the dark background.
Moving forward, for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
