2021: Disney – Animal Kingdom – Kite Tails

During the day at Animal Kingdom there were several times where we watched Lion King Kite Tails from several locations around the Animal Kingdom Lake. This was a boat and kite show that was really fun to watch and made for a great opportunity to sit and rest between standing in lines and walking through the park. Unfortunately, the show has been somewhat short lived with performances stopping at the end of September 2022. So, we feel lucky that we were fortunate enough to enjoy it. There are a couple of blogs about the show closing that include some great pictures and videos that you can watch at Disney Tourist Blog and WDW Magic.
This is a spread that I am particularly proud of as it took a long time to complete. I found the Lion King characters on Etsy and purchased the SVG set. I think that they were probably meant to be used at a much larger scale as some of the pices were very small, and it took me nearly 5 hours to cut and piece all of the 5 characters together. I found the Kite Tails logo online and used my Cricut machine to cut that out as well.
I chose a blue and orange theme for this page to match the colors of the lake and of the characters. The background paper is from a 1990’s Disney scrapbook pack that we still had, and I used a jagged edge tearing tool to create the double torn edge borders on the sides. The pictures are bordered in a thin blue cardstock to help them stand out on the page.
Currently, for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
