2021: Florida Road Trip – Crafty Crab and Sand on the Beach

After spending two days at Disney World my son and I travelled south to the Palm Bay, Florida area where he lives. There are several scrapbook spreads that will follow that share the other adventures that we had during this week. This spread showcases photographs from two restaurants that we really enjoy in the area – Sand on the Beach and Crafty Crab Seafood.
I chose an orange and yellow theme for this page to match the colors in the Crafty Crab logo which dominates the middle of this spread. I was able to use Cricut Design Space and my Cricut machine to create a close replica of the claw logo.
The pictures on the left-hand side are of my son and I enjoying breakfast at Sand on the Beach and enjoying the ocean afterwards. The pictures on the right-hand side are of us enjoying our food at Crafty Crab Seafood. I know that I don’t look happy in my picture, but I think it was because I was feeling very full at the time after eating my one pound of shrimp seafood boil!
I was able to save part of the paper on the table and put it in the top right-hand corner of the page. I actually asked the waiter for some new pieces of the table cover, which I normally do when collecting ephemera. I have never had anyone decline my request, and I often get more than I thought I would when I ask.
The photos are bordered in a thin mat of orange or yellow to help them stand out against the background. The double torn borders on the sides were created using a jagged tearing edge tool.
My new practice is to create videos that show me putting the scrapbook spreads together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
