Space 220: A Dining Adventure to Infinity and Beyond

This spread showcases the outside of the Space 220 Restaurant—one of the main reasons I chose to visit EPCOT during our short Disney trip. I had been dreaming of this out-of-this-world experience, and getting to eat 220 miles above Earth felt like a mission worthy of Star Command!

Space 220 is one of EPCOT’s most immersive dining experiences. Located next to Mission: SPACE in the World Discovery section, the adventure begins with a ride on a space elevator that launches you straight into orbit. Once aboard the space station, you’re surrounded by panoramic “windows” that look out into the cosmos—astronauts floating by, satellites spinning, and stars twinkling in the distance. The prix-fixe menu includes modern American dishes with futuristic flair, making it one small meal for you, one giant leap for Disney dining.

For this layout, I chose a starry night background paper to represent our countdown moment—still earthbound, waiting to launch into space. The left-hand side features a photo of my son and me posing with Buzz Lightyear, who is cleverly positioned to block a person we decided not to include in the final design. The Buzz Lightyear graphic was found in Cricut Design Space, and while it took a lightyear’s worth of time to assemble, the final result makes me proud enough to say: mission accomplished.

You’ll also notice a photo of the Space 220 reservation card—this was our boarding pass to the stars, required to board the space elevator. I finished the page with planet stickers from a space-themed scrapbooking kit to help balance out the Earth graphic visible in the top-right photo, tying the whole celestial theme together.

The entire layout—including the matting, background cutouts, and accents—was designed in Cricut Design Space and cut using my Cricut Maker. On the right-hand page, you’ll find pictures of us getting ready to blast off. Two of the photos are 4x4s to keep the grid balanced. The top-right image captures the view beneath your feet as the elevator “lifts off” into space—a stunning detail of the experience. The bottom-left photo, also cut to 4×4, helped crop out someone we didn’t want included, making this layout work perfectly both visually and practically.

The Space 220 logo in the top right was downloaded from the internet and then redrawn using the Cricut’s pen feature—a small detail that adds a lot of polish. I’m really happy with how it turned out!
