Europe Vacation 2015: Hofgut Sternen, Black Forest, Germany
On our first day in Germany, our friend Luca had to go to school :(, so his parents took us on a road trip to Colmar, France. To get there we had to go through the Black Forest and we stopped at the World Famous Hofgut Sternen. It is a tiny village stop with beautiful architecture, artisan stores, and wonderful food. Levi enjoyed watching a glass artist while I looked at cuckoo clocks, swiss army knives and the amazing clock works. We also had to have some Black Forest cake in the Black Forest, where I discovered that real Black Forest cake is made with real Cherry Liqueur.
When I put this spread into my scrapbook I actually decided to swap the order. The page with the date I put on the left. Since we were in Germany I used a red, yellow, and black theme – the colors of the German flag. I used my Cricut machine to cut out the date, and the “postcard” came from a German scrapbook pack. I used the postcard to journal what we had done for the day, which is something that I don’t usually do. The “Hofgut Sternen” title piece is actually cut out from the plastic bag from the store and mounted carefully on a double border.
The pictures are (Left to Right) – the amazing Cuckoo works, the inside of the Cuckoo works, an expensive Cuckoo clock, and my amazing piece of Black Forest cake. I encourage you to check out the Hofgut Sternen website as there as some amazing pictures of the train bridges that you can see from this spot, as well as much better pictures of the buildings.
