2016: Branson – Ride The Ducks
When we were planning our trip to Branson, MO, I asked each of my family members what they wanted to do – my mom had two wishes – one was to Ride the Ducks, and the other was to go zip-lining (which you will see a little later). This spread is from that adventure!
The left hand page showcases the tickets and certificate from the time on the ducks. I like to put this kind of ephemera on my pages as it helps to detail the names, dates, and times of events so that I do not have to journal (I don’t like my handwriting). I used a “ducks” background paper that I bought at a local scrapbook store in Branson, MO, (Scrapbooks Forever), for this page.
The right hand page has a blue theme to match the blue sky, and the blue in the Ride the Ducks patch that is in the right hand bottom corner. I tried a different technique on this page by not bordering the pictures, and putting them edge to edge and then running the side border on top of them. The jagged torn edge of the darker blue then overlaps the photos creating a cool effect. I used a blue thread and my sewing machine to sew the wave pattern onto the border to hold it in place – keeping the sewing theme of this album. I attached the brochure to the outside of the plastic page protector so that they viewer could open it to read it.
