Cancun 2017: Aquaworld Water Toys
I shared in an earlier blog that we got a great deal at Aquaworld on a package of fun activities. These two spreads showcase what I can the Boy’s Water Toys!  I used the same theme on both spreads to help to tie them together – water and blue.  The spread above has the professional pictures from our speedboat tour , where we got to drive our own speedboat.  It was a little nerve racking at first, but I got the hang of it and it was pretty fun.  My son drove on the way back – which got my heart rate right back up there again!

I used a thick border on both of the spreads as I had the room to do it, and bordered the photographs with the same paper.  I cut the speedboat out with my Cricut machine.  Part of what I really like about using the machine to make your own cutouts is that you can chose the colors of paper that you want to cut from – which you can’t do with pre-purchased stickers or laser cuts.   you can see that chose colors that mimicked the colors of the boat in the pictures.  I had the quote in one of my Quotables stacks, and attached it to the border using rivets and my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite Punch.

The second spread has a picture from my son’s Jet Ski adventure, of which we only had one picture.  So I made the right hand page part of the theme by cutting out two jet skiers from the border with my Cricut machine and then placing them on the water background paper.  I used Cricut Design Space to precisely place where the cuts would happen so that I could use the left over for the reverse video border.  I used the same color paper for the photo border as for the spread borders to help tie it all together, but also to emphasize the photo against the busy background paper.
