50th Anniversary: Biltmore – Stable Cafe
While at the Biltmore my parents ate at the Stable Cafe, which is built in the former stables of the estate. I chose brown colors for this spread to match the colors of horses.
The background of the left hand page is actually the left over cutout from another project that I did several years ago (Rodeo). At the time I thought that I might be able to use it sometime and so I kept it! On top of that is a napkin that my mother saved from the restaurant.
You can see from the pictures on the right hand page that my mother’s phone camera was not working very well – but I wanted to use as many of her pictures as I could. I also used a torn edge border on this page and brought one of the borders across the page quite deeply to add interest to the page. You will also notice that this page has a blank block in the top right hand corner which I saved for my mother to journal in later when she came to visit me at Thanksgiving.
