2018: Gatlinburg Vacation – Dolly Parton’s Stampede – 2
After we were let into the arena our waitress asked my son if he was interested in being part of the show. I think that he thought that he was going to get to ride a horse so he eagerly agreed. He did get to ride a horse kind of – a hobby horse. At first when the race started he was pretty embarrassed, but then he got into it and his team actually won!
The left hand side of the spread contains pictures of the race from my seat in the house, and they are a little blurry due to the lighting in the arena. The right hand side has pictures from after the event with some of the performers, as well as our tickets for the event. I like to use tickets like this in the spreads as it helps to share the event, date, and time eliminating the need for me to journal on the page (which I really don’t like doing).
In the middle of the spread you can see the medal and ribbon that he won and that you can see in the pictures on the right hand side. Per my custom for this set of Gatlinburg vacation scrapbook pages I have attached a metal pine tree brad on the page to tie the full set together.
Some part of me feels like there is still a little bit of empty space on this spread, and I may go back and fill it in at some point with patterned paper. But this is the way that it currently sits.
